Hello everyone…welcome to April!
I am so excited to be bringing you yet another fun month of Stamping Society goodies! Here at Stamping Society we have decided to feature all things BLENDING this month featuring the gorgeous Blending Brushes from Stampin’ Up! These are a relatively new addition to the Stampin’ Up! family and are a hidden gem!
If you don’t have some in your stash – you will definitely need some after seeing this hop – and taking part in the tutorial!
This month I have also decided to use the gorgeous Butterfly Bouquet bundle and show that off as well. That gorgeous bundle is still available! The bundle will be carrying over to the annual catalogue – however the papers will not.
The Butterfly Bijou paper has sold out here in the South Pacific but the Natural Touch Wood Paper is still available at the time of writing this post.
What is Stamping Society?
It’s a monthly tutorial bundle from six different designers all over the world and each month we do a blog hop featuring a certain theme or product and then put together a tutorial and video which you can either purchase, earn for free on our teams or earn for FREE as one of our customers.
See the bottom of this post for more information on that.
Here’s a look at my finished card with features some gorgeous colours used with the Blending Brushes and the fun ‘sunset technique’
I have used the fun Melon Mambo at the bottom and moved into some Pumpkin Pie and then Flirty Flamingo at the top.
I did this all using just two of the Blending Brushes, one for the pink and one of the Orange on a sheet of Shimmery White Cardstock.
Once this was all blended, I then stamped my butterflies using the butterfly stamp using Staz On ink (for a better impression) and then I have used the coordinating butterfly die from the bundle and actually placed this over the top and cut the butterflies out.
I have then used an inlaid die cutting technique to lay the butterflies back into place – using some liquid adhesive down the centres of the butterflies and a tiny bit of Black Stampin’ Dimensional foam on the sides of the butterflies to add some dimension.
This adds a really fun dimensional card front.
Here you can see a close up of the fun card and all the dimension that this fun technique creates and the beautiful sunset that all that blending creates.
The biggest thing I have found with blending is that when you leave it to sit for a little bit, it ‘settles in’ to the card and starts to blend more.
I have embellished it quite simply and kept to a simple heat embossed sentiment from the Lovely You Stamp Set and a Linen Thread bow using the Calypso Coral Linen Thread which is actually taken from the Flowering Cactus Product Medley.
I then added some Matte Black Dots.
Here is a look at the decorated inside of the card when I have added some Designer Series Paper and some more Linen Thread and a simple butterfly.
The Designer Series Paper has sold out now but you could add some alternative Designer Series Paper or some coloured cardstock and one of the stamped butterflies.
I also added some more blending using the Pumpkin Pie Ink.
I hope you got some inspiration and enjoyment out of today’s card share.
